Asset Monitoring – Monitor Your Assets in Real Time with IoT
According to tradition, it was physicist Kamerlingh Onnes who laid the foundation for the saying “Knowledge through measurement” with his motto “Through measurement to knowledge.” Asset monitoring—the process of tracking the condition of your organization’s assets—aligns perfectly with this idea. The need to conduct asset monitoring digitally is growing rapidly. Due to the aging population, many employees and their expertise will leave organizations over the next decade. With smart technology, a significant portion of their tasks can be taken over. And much of their practical knowledge can be digitally secured, reducing or even eliminating the need for maintenance technicians to go into the field.
What can you monitor?
Nowadays, there’s very little you can’t digitally monitor in real time. The Imbema Corroguard: Innovative corrosion protection for infrastructure
In our wet country, all underground and aboveground metal infrastructure is prone to corrosion. If left unprotected, pipes, cables, and steel structures will eventually rust through. A proven form of protection is Cathodic Protection (CP), where a low electric current protects infrastructure from corrosion. Until recently, rectifiers that control this process could only be operated locally.
