At DK Tankstop in Oss, everything revolves around service and continuous improvement. What started over 70 years ago as a family business in the oil trade has grown into a modern service location where hundreds of customers stop by every day.
From replacement to broader question
The initial trigger for change was practical. The existing vacuum cleaners were due for replacement and were increasingly causing hassle, partly due to the use of coins. “At some point you have to do something about it,” Michael explains. “Especially when you notice things are no longer running smoothly.” What started as a search for new vacuum cleaners quickly evolved into a broader question: how can the service at the location be elevated to a higher level in one go?
A different perspective on service
During that search, DK Tankstop came across the Multiterminal—not as a direct replacement for a vacuum cleaner, but as a comprehensive solution combining multiple functions. “We came across the MultiTerminal online and it immediately caught our attention,” says Michael. “It’s more than just vacuuming. You’re simply offering more service in one place.”
That aligned with the location’s ambitions: not just replacing facilities, but genuinely adding something to the overall customer experience. It also helped that such a solution was not yet available in the region.
We stand for service, so we simply want to have things well organized for our customers.
Deliberately choosing the bigger picture
Choosing an integrated solution was not a given. “You’re always looking for the right equipment. But if you take a closer look, the investment difference between a standalone machine and this MultiTerminal isn’t even that big. And with the MultiTerminal, you simply offer much more. So then you opt for a total solution.”
“Of course, we ran the numbers,” Michael explains. “You look at what you have now, what it generates, and what the potential is. If that all adds up, it should work out just fine.” That consideration led to the decision not to go for separate facilities, but for a solution that combines multiple functions and therefore offers more possibilities.
