Viking Johnson's UltraGrip Series is designed to provide a solution for joining non-dedicated pipes made of different materials. It features a gripping mechanism that provides maximum grip around the entire pipe circumference, resisting axial loading. As the internal pressure in the pipe increases, the gripping mechanism's ability to hold the end load increases. Additionally, the grippers are removable, allowing UltraGrip to be converted into a flexible, non-restraint product that allows for axial movement.
Various pipe materials can be connected to both sides of the UltraGrip coupling, including cast iron, ductile iron, steel, PVC, PE, GRP and asbestos cement. The UltraGrip coupling is restraint and is designed to connect pipes with different outside diameters. The connection of this coupling is DN 50 and has a size range from minimum 48 mm to maximum 71 mm on both sides. In addition, this coupling is suitable for drinking water up to PN 16 due to the gasket of EPDM on both sides.
The UltraGrip coupling is designed to meet the requirements of EN 14525. This coupling is made of ductile iron with an rilsan nylon 11 coating, which makes the UltraGrip coupling highly resistant to abrasion and damage from chemicals or corrosion. Due to the specially profiled gasket of the coupling, even pipes that are damaged or affected by corrosion can be completely sealed. A support liner for this coupling is recommended when used on a PE pipe. In addition, the UltraGrip coupling is suitable for angular deflection up to 8° (2x 4°) over the entire size range of the coupling.
