Viking Johnson's UltraGrip Series provides a solution for joining non-dedicated pipes made of various materials. The gripping mechanism provides maximum grip around the entire circumference of the pipe, allowing it to withstand axial loads. As internal pressure increases, the gripping mechanism's ability to hold end loads increases. In addition, UltraGrip's grippers are removable, allowing for axial movement.
Various pipe materials can be connected to the UltraGrip coupling, including cast iron, ductile iron, steel, PVC, PE, GRP and asbestos cement. The UltraGrip coupling is restraint and is designed to connect pipes with different outside diameters. The connection of this coupling is DN 80 and has a size range from minimum 85,7 mm to maximum 107 mm on both sides. In addition, this coupling has a gasket made of EPDM on both sides and is therefore suitable for drinking water up to PN 16.
The UltraGrip coupling is designed to meet the requirements of EN 14525. Thanks to the ductile iron housing with an rilsan nylon 11 coating, the UltraGrip coupling offers long-term resistance to abrasion or damage caused by corrosion or chemicals. Due to the specially profiled gasket of the coupling, even pipes that are damaged or affected by corrosion can be completely sealed. A support liner for this coupling is recommended when used on a PE pipe. Furthermore, the UltraGrip coupling can accommodate angular deflection up to 8° (2x 4°) over the entire coupling size range.
