Viking Johnson's UltraGrip Series provides a solution for joining non-dedicated pipes made of various materials. The gripping mechanism provides maximum grip around the entire circumference of the pipe, allowing it to withstand axial loads. As internal pressure increases, the gripping mechanism's ability to hold end loads increases. In addition, UltraGrip's grippers are removable, allowing for axial movement.
Both sides of the UltraGrip coupling can be connected to various pipe materials including cast iron, ductile iron, steel, PVC, PE, GRP and asbestos cement. The UltraGrip coupling is restraint and is designed to connect pipes with different outside diameters. The connection of this coupling is DN 250 and has a size range from minimum 266,2 mm to maximum 310 mm on both sides. With a NBR gasket on both sides, the coupling is suitable for gas up to PN 5.
The UltraGrip coupling is designed to meet the requirements of EN 14525. To prevent abrasion or significant damage from chemicals or corrosion, UltraGrip couplings are made of ductile iron with an rilsan nylon 11 coating. In addition, the specially profiled gasket completely seals pipes, despite damage or corrosion on the pipes. A support liner for this coupling is recommended when used on a PE pipe. In addition, the UltraGrip coupling is suitable for angular deflection up to 8° (2x 4°) over the entire size range of the coupling.
