DENSO has developed various DENSIT® tapes specifically for insulation and sealing. The tapes offer protection against the ingress of air and water. In addition, the tapes create high-quality connections between prefabricated components, making them an indispensable part of any construction or building project.
This self-adhesive butyl rubber plastic tape is laminated with polyester reinforced aluminum foil to create a self-adhesive product. With a silver gloss finish (DENSIT®-AL) or a matt gray finish (DENSIT®-PB) it is highly tear resistant. Butyl rubber tapes adhere effortlessly to a wide range of materials and surfaces, ensuring perfect coverage and sealing of surfaces, edges, folds and other transitions. DENSIT®-AL and DENSIT®-PB also provide corrosion prevention on pipe and cable ties, antennas, chimneys, sheet metal connections, roofs and glass surfaces. These tapes are designed for above-ground applications and have a metallic colour. In addition to being a corrosion-resistant layer, the tapes can also be used with all DENSOLEN® 3-layer tapes. Tapes are compatible with factory coatings such as PE, PP, FBE, PU, CTE and bitumen.
The DENSIT®-AL and DENSIT®-PB tapes not only protect against water vapour and oxygen, they also offer UV protection. Solar radiation is reflected by the tapes, which reduces the surface temperature of the encasement material. This means that the service life of pipeline covering materials can be significantly extended, especially in very hot countries where solar radiation is intense. This tape is suitable for operating temperatures from -30 to +80°C. Furthermore, the tape has a thickness of 0,6 mm, a width of 50 mm and a roll length of 10 m.
