DENSO has developed various DENSIT® tapes specifically for insulation and sealing. The tapes offer protection against the ingress of air and water. In addition, the tapes create high-quality connections between prefabricated components, making them an indispensable part of any construction or building project.
DENSIT®-AL and DENSIT®-PB are self-adhesive butyl rubber plastic tapes with a laminated, polyester-reinforced aluminium foil. The foil is highly tear-resistant and has a silver gloss finish (DENSIT®-AL) or a matt grey finish (DENSIT®-PB). Due to the strong adhesive properties of the butyl rubber, the tapes adhere effortlessly to various materials and surfaces, resulting in complete coverage and optimum sealing of surfaces, edges, folds and other transitions. In addition, DENSIT®-AL and DENSIT®-PB are versatile in use for corrosion prevention of pipe and cable clamps, antenna and chimney structures, sheet metal, window and roof structures, and glass surfaces. Due to their metallic colour, the tapes are very suitable for above-ground applications. The tapes can also be used in combination with all DENSOLEN® 3-layer tapes as a corrosion prevention layer. The tapes are compatible with factory coatings of PE, PP, FBE, PU, CTE and bitumen.
In addition to protection against water vapour and oxygen, DENSIT®-AL and DENSIT®-PB also protect against UV radiation. Solar radiation is reflected by the tape, which reduces the surface temperature of the coating. As a result, the encasement material of the pipeline can be extended considerably longer, especially in warm countries with intense solar radiation. This tape can be used at temperatures from -30 to +80°C. Furthermore, the tape has a thickness of 0,6 mm, a width of 100 mm and a length of 10 m.
