DENSO's DENSIT® tapes are specially developed for insulation and sealing purposes. The tapes guarantee effective insulation that is resistant to air or water penetration. In addition, they create high-quality connections between prefabricated components, making them an essential product in any building or construction project.
A self-adhesive butyl rubber plastic tape with a laminated, polyester-reinforced aluminum foil is available in DENSIT®-AL and DENSIT®-PB. These films are extremely tear-resistant and have a silver gloss (DENSIT®-AL) or matt gray (DENSIT®-PB) finish. Due to the strong adhesive strength of butyl rubber, the tapes adhere effortlessly to a wide range of materials and surfaces, resulting in complete coverage and optimum sealing of surfaces, edges, folds and transitions. In addition to pipe and cable brackets, antennas and chimneys, sheet metal connections, roof construction and glass surfaces, DENSIT®-AL and DENSIT®-PB provide corrosion prevention. In addition to their metallic colour, the tapes are ideal for above-ground applications. Furthermore, all DENSOLEN® 3-layer tapes can be used in combination with the tapes to provide corrosion prevention. These tapes can be applied over PE, PP, FBE, PU, CTE and bitumen factory coatings.
In addition to protection against water vapour and oxygen, DENSIT®-AL and DENSIT®-PB also offer protection against UV radiation. The tapes reflect solar radiation and thus reduce the temperature of the encasement material, which can significantly extend the service life of pipeline material, especially in very hot countries with intense solar radiation. This tape is suitable for operating temperatures from -30 to 80 °C. Furthermore, the tape is 0,6 mm thick, 50 mm wide and 10 m long.
