The Ergobar is characterized by a (patented) system with two springs: a light spring and a heavy spring. The idea behind this is that the Ergobar can be used in two different main positions:

Parking position: By using the light spring, you clamp the Ergobar between floor and ceiling with a constant force of about 30kg. For example, if you drive without a load, the unused load bars can be placed next to each other without causing damage to the ceiling.
Clamping position: By first setting the load bar in length and then pulling the lever, the clamping position is activated. This secures the load with a permanent clamping force of 81kg or 152kg (depending on Ergobar model).

1. Open the lever
