Viking Johnson's UltraGrip Series is designed to provide a solution for joining non-dedicated pipes made of different materials. It features a gripping mechanism that provides maximum grip around the entire pipe circumference, resisting axial loading. As the internal pressure in the pipe increases, the gripping mechanism's ability to hold the end load increases. Additionally, the grippers are removable, allowing UltraGrip to be converted into a flexible, non-restraint product that allows for axial movement.
Both sides of the UltraGrip coupling can be connected to various pipe materials including cast iron, ductile iron, steel, PVC, PE, GRP and asbestos cement. The UltraGrip coupling is restraint and is designed to connect pipes with different outside diameters. The connection of this coupling is DN 100 and has a size range from minimum 107,2 mm to maximum 133,2 mm on both sides. In addition, this coupling has a gasket made of EPDM on both sides and is therefore suitable for drinking water up to PN 16.
The UltraGrip coupling is designed to meet the requirements of EN 14525. Thanks to the ductile iron housing with an rilsan nylon 11 coating, the UltraGrip coupling offers long-term resistance to abrasion or damage caused by corrosion or chemicals. In addition, the specially profiled gasket ensures that even damaged and corroded pipes are completely sealed. A support liner for this coupling is recommended when used on a PE pipe. In addition, the UltraGrip coupling is suitable for angular deflection up to 8° (2x 4°) over the entire size range of the coupling.
