Viking Johnson offers a solution for connecting non-dedicated pipes of various materials with the UltraGrip series. The gripping mechanism provides maximum grip around the entire pipe circumference and resistance for axial loads. As the internal pressure in the pipe increases, the gripping mechanism can hold more end loads. In addition, UltraGrip can be converted to a flexible, non-restraint product that allows axial movement by removing the grippers.
The UltraGrip coupling can be connected to various pipes, including cast iron, ductile iron, steel, PVC, PE, GRP, and asbestos cement. The UltraGrip coupling is restraint and is designed to connect pipes with different outside diameters. The connection of this coupling is DN 300 and has a size range from minimum 315 mm to maximum 356 mm on both sides. With a EPDM gasket on both sides, the coupling is suitable for drinking water up to PN 16.
The UltraGrip coupling is designed to meet the requirements of EN 14525. Thanks to the ductile iron housing with an rilsan nylon 11 coating, the UltraGrip coupling offers long-term resistance to abrasion or damage caused by corrosion or chemicals. Even pipes that are damaged or corroded are completely sealed by the specially profiled gasket of the coupling. A support liner for this coupling is recommended when used on a PE pipe. Furthermore, the UltraGrip coupling can accommodate angular deflection up to 8° (2x 4°) over the entire coupling size range.
