Viking Johnson's UltraGrip Series is designed to join non-dedicated pipes of various materials. The gripping mechanism provides maximum grip around the pipe circumference, thereby resisting axial loads. As the internal pressure in the pipe increases, the gripping mechanism can also hold more end load. Because the grippers are removable, UltraGrip can also be converted to a flexible, non-restraint product that allows for axial movement.
Various pipe materials can be connected to the UltraGrip coupling, including cast iron, ductile iron, steel, PVC, PE, GRP and asbestos cement. The UltraGrip coupling is restraint and is designed to connect pipes with different outside diameters. The connection of this coupling is DN 600 and has a size range from minimum 604 mm to maximum 648 mm on both sides. In addition, this coupling is suitable for drinking water up to PN 10 due to the gasket of EPDM on both sides.
The UltraGrip coupling is designed to meet the requirements of EN 14525. This coupling is made of ductile iron with an rilsan nylon 11 coating, which makes the UltraGrip coupling highly resistant to abrasion and damage from chemicals or corrosion. Even pipes that are damaged or corroded are completely sealed by the specially profiled gasket of the coupling. A support liner for this coupling is recommended when used on a PE pipe. In addition, the UltraGrip coupling is suitable for angular deflection up to 8° (2x 4°) over the entire size range of the coupling.
