Viking Johnson's UltraGrip Series is designed to provide a solution for joining non-dedicated pipes made of different materials. It features a gripping mechanism that provides maximum grip around the entire pipe circumference, resisting axial loading. As the internal pressure in the pipe increases, the gripping mechanism's ability to hold the end load increases. Additionally, the grippers are removable, allowing UltraGrip to be converted into a flexible, non-restraint product that allows for axial movement.

Application

Various pipe materials can be connected to both sides of the UltraGrip coupling, including cast iron, ductile iron, steel, PVC, PE, GRP and asbestos cement. The gasket of this coupling is made of EPDM, making the coupling suitable for drinking water up to PN 10. This UltraGrip reducing coupling is a restraint coupling, which is designed to connect pipes with different outer diameters. One connection of the coupling is DN 400 and has a size range from a minimum of 398 mm to a maximum of 442 mm. The other connection is DN 450 and has a size range from a minimum of 448 mm to a maximum of 492 mm.

Product Features

The UltraGrip reducing coupling is designed to meet the requirements of EN 14525. The UltraGrip reducing coupling is made of cast iron with a rilsan nylon 11 coating. This makes the coupling resistant to abrasion or significant damage from chemicals or corrosion. Even pipes that are damaged or corroded are completely sealed by the specially profiled gasket of the coupling. A support liner for this coupling is recommended when used on a PE pipe. Furthermore, the UltraGrip reducing coupling is capable of accommodating an angular deflection up to 8° (2x 4°) over the entire size range.
