Stowaways whitepaper
To help transporters secure themselves against stowaways, we have developed a whitepaper in collaboration with TLN (Transport en Logistiek Nederland). Because knowledge of the stowaways issue and better locks on the rear doors of a truck or trailer reduce the risk of stowaways. With this stowaways whitepaper, you as a transporter are aware of the complete problem. You know how climbers operate and what the consequences are. In addition, the white paper describes what measures governments and ferry companies have taken against boarders and how you, as a transporter, can make transport to England a lot easier and safer. The white paper further covers issues such as insurance, the correct application of the Code of Practice and what to do when you find stowaways in your truck.

Code of Practice
It is important to always follow the Code of Practice. Maintaining this vehicle checklist by hand only requires quite a bit of time and discipline from the driver. Therefore, in practice, it often goes wrong, with all its consequences. With the current technological developments, you can make checking the vehicle and security a lot easier and safer.
Electronic lock
If you as a transporter want extra security or want to make it easy for the driver, an electronic lock is ideal. The logistics planning determines who is allowed to open which locks and when. On the lock you can read afterwards when it has been open. An example of such a trailer lock is the SBS BDI.
Telematics lock solution trailer
Telematics locking solutions are available for transport companies transporting high-value or fragile cargo. These keep you informed in real time about the status of the cargo. For a trailer, this can be a lock with additional (infrared) sensors and alarms on the inside, such as the SBS INLOCK. For a container, this can be an SBS E-containeguard with trackers at the load. This allows you to prove afterwards that no one has been near the load, preventing damage from a rejected load.
