The SR 601 hood, together with the battery-powered SR 500/SR 500 EX or SR 700 fan and approved filters, is part of Sundström's fan-assisted respiratory protection equipment. The hood's breathing tube is connected to the fan unit, which is equipped with filters. The positive pressure created in the hood prevents particles and other contaminants from entering the hood. The equipment can be used as an alternative to filter protection in all situations where the latter is recommended. This is especially true in situations where the work is intensive, hot, or prolonged.
